We are here to answer your questions about what has been called one of the most significant challenges ever faced by the IT industry.  We also want to share your experiences in successfully dealing with the Year 2000 problem.  Contact us at Equifax at Year.2000@Equifax.com or send us mail to Equifax Year 2000 Project Office, Equifax Inc., 1600 Peachtree St., N.W., Mail Drop J42G, Atlanta, GA  30309.

The Equifax Solution

Creating solutions for our customers is what we do best at Equifax.  And we are attacking the Year 2000 issue within our offices around the world with the same creativity, intensity, and technological expertise that enables Equifax to change the shape of global commerce.

We believe the total solution for the Millennium challenge lies in sharing strategies, success stories, and lessons learned so everyone can gain the knowledge and experience they need to move ahead faster with their own Year 2000 projects.

To that end, Equifax is enthusiastically participating in several national and international user groups.  We are also working on the problem within the Atlanta community. In 1996 we founded the Atlanta Year 2000 Users Group. You can check out their Web site at www.bytewise.com/atlyear2000/.

As early as 1990 Equifax was aware of the implications of the year 2000, and has worked to ensure new products and services were year 2000 ready. In 1996, Equifax as a whole began a formal technical assessment of and strategy for renovating and re-engineering our legacy systems.  We are working to make a smooth transition into the next century.

There are numerous Web sites that feature Year 2000 news stories, hardware and software compliancy status reports, and audit and legal advice, the best business practices, and other valuable information and insight.  While we don't endorse this information, we do find it helpful and thought provoking.  We maintain a list of these web sites which you can download.  Copies of the lists are available as tables in .ZIP format for both MS Word 95 and WordPerfect version 5.x.  You can simply sort the tables by the topics that interest you.  Then, using cut and paste you can link to them directly using your web browser.  You can also print hardcopies of the tables.    A .ZIP file is a compressed file that you expand after you download the file.   You need the WinZip software to expand the .ZIP file.  Look at www.WinZip.com for information about WinZip.
