Equifax National Decision Systems Develops Marketpac-Express For ESRI’s Arcview 3 Software

SAN DIEGO, May 30, 1996 -- MarketPac-Express(TM), a market data package designed by Equifax National Decision Systems for users of ArcView(R) 3, the newest desktop geographical information systems (GIS) software from ESRI, was announced today at the Business Geographics `96 Conference and Exposition.

Robert A. Nascenzi, vice president of sales and production for Equifax National Decision Systems, said MarketPac-Express will provide ArcView users with quick access to approximately 100 demographic variables, consumer consumption estimates for 16 product categories, and 1996 employment information on a single compact disc.

The data files will be accessible at all standard levels of geography, such as block groups, census tracts, ZIP Codes, counties, metropolitan statistical areas, and states. MarketPac-Express is available exclusively from ESRI.

"MarketPac-Express will allow ArcView users to make unlimited queries for any geographical area in the U.S. of the demographic, consumer consumption, and employment variables that impact their businesses most," Nascenzi said. "By having market data integrated with ArcView, users will be able to easily conduct revealing, in-depth spatial analysis of their markets and map the results."

Retailers, restaurants, commercial realtors, banks, insurance and service companies, city planners, advertising agencies, publishers and other types of companies will find the combination of GIS software and market data valuable for site evaluation, market analysis, trend analysis, and consumer consumption evaluation.

"The relationship that Equifax National Decision Systems and ESRI have had over the past five years has resulted in better products for businesses with a need for technically advanced geographic tools and accurate data," Nascenzi pointed out. "We believe this market data package will significantly benefit ArcView users."

ESRI was founded in 1969 as a research group devoted to improving methods of handling geographically referenced data. Today, ESRI is the leading developer of GIS software, with more than 100,000 clients worldwide. ESRI also provides consulting, implementation, and technical support services.
