GTECH Signs Subcontract with High Integrity Systems
ATLANTA, February 8, 1996 --Equifax's High Integrity Systems Inc. announced today it had signed a subcontract with GTECH (GTK) for services on its California lottery contract.
Under the agreement, GTECH will assist High Integrity Systems (HISI) with the development, implementation and support of an automated instant ticket gaming system for the California State Lottery.
HISI's contract with the California State Lottery was executed on July 21, 1995, and became effective on Nov. 13, 1995. In addition to the automated instant ticket gaming system, the contract requires the installation and maintenance of 6,000 lottery terminals using HISI's proprietary dial-up technology for on-line and instant ticket sales and validation.
HISI has entered into subcontracts with other parties to provide the terminals, terminal operating system and other portions of the system software.
"The participation of an industry leader like GTECH demonstrates our commitment to provide California a superior lottery system," said Anthony Stefanis, Equifax corporate vice president and HISI chairman and chief executive officer. "HISI remains the prime contractor on our California contract and we have assured state officials this system will be smoothly implemented and operating in the near future."
"We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with HISI on this important venture," said Guy B. Snowden, GTECH Chairman and CEO. "We believe our proven track record as the California Lottery's online vendor will play an important role in the successful implementation of this project and we look forward to further enhancing the Lottery's success."
GTECH Corporation is the world's leading supplier of computerized on-line lottery products and services. Currently, GTECH has contracts to supply and/or operate lottery systems for 27 U.S. customers and 47 jurisdictions outside of the United States.
