Equifax Announces New Senior Management Assignments


Atlanta, December 5, 1996 -- Equifax Inc. today announced new assignments for several senior executives.

David A. Post was named chief financial officer of the corporation. He has served in that capacity for the company's Financial Services Group since 1992. Post succeeds Donald U. Hallman, who is retiring Dec. 31 after 26 years with Equifax.

Bruce S. Richards becomes general counsel for Equifax Inc. Richards has been serving as the general counsel of the Financial Services Group since 1993. Thomas H. Magis, who has served as general counsel and corporate secretary since 1993, will retire Dec. 31 after a 33-year career with Equifax.

Marietta Edmunds Zakas becomes corporate secretary while retaining her responsibilities as director of investor relations. She served as corporate treasurer since January of this year. Philip J. Mazzilli, corporate controller, will assume the additional duties of treasurer.

Mr. Post joined Equifax in February 1992. Prior to joining Equifax, he was Senior Vice President and Controller for Wachovia Corporation of Georgia (formerly First Atlanta) since 1983. He was previously employed as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer by County Savings Association in Columbus, Ohio, from 1981 until 1983. He began his career with Coopers and Lybrand CPA firm in 1975.

Mr. Richards served as Senior Vice President and Group Counsel of Equifax=s Financial Services Group, with responsibility for the legal affairs of the financial services businesses worldwide, including Payment Services, Credit Services, Marketing Services and Decision Solutions. He was Vice President & General Counsel of Telecredit, Inc., when Equifax acquired Telecredit in 1991. Mr. Richards was in a private corporate legal practice prior to joining Telecredit in 1987.

Ms. Zakas served as Corporate Vice President and Treasurer, responsible for the corporate treasury, tax and capital finance functions. Before that, from 1993 until 1995, Ms. Zakas was Vice President and Director of Investor Relations. Prior to joining Equifax in September 1993, she served at Holiday Inn Worldwide in Atlanta, Ga. as Director - Strategic Planning and Analysis and as Director - Project Finance. Ms. Zakas has also worked at Morgan Stanley and Co. in New York as an investment banker.

Mr. Mazzilli served as Corporate Vice President and Controller, with responsibility for all internal and external financial reporting, the annual budgeting process, and centralized shared services functions for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Travel as well as corporate-wide financial systems, Purchasing and other administrative functions. Before joining Equifax, Mr. Mazzilli held senior financial and operational positions at Equitable Life Insurance, Lillian Vernon, Amerada Hess and International Business Machines (IBM).
