New CD-ROMs Provide Market Statistics for a Wide Range of Geographical Areas

SAN DIEGO, April 5, 1996 -- Equifax National Decision Systems has introduced new versions of its standalone CD-ROM-based market analysis data and software line, called ON-CD.

The new versions provide the most current and accurate demographic data and business statistics for geographical areas as large as the entire United States and as small as a block group.

Pop-Facts ON-CD provides 1990 U.S. Census data, with estimates for 1996 and projections for 2001 of key demographic variables, such as population, households, age, occupation and income. Business-Facts ON-CD includes business counts for SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes, sales volume and employment size ranges, and daytime population counts.

The ON-CD products provide access with easy-to-use Windows-based software to hundreds of demographic and business variables, retrievable at the national, state, county, metropolitan statistical area, ZIP code, census tract and block group geography levels.

The ON-CD products can be used alone or easily downloaded for use in other software packages, such as spreadsheets, database managers or geographical information system (GIS) mapping programs. ON-CD data sets can be exported into ASCII, dBase, ArcView 2 and MapInfo formats.

"ON-CD is a very cost-effective data source, especially in GIS applications, for small to mid-size retailers, banks, real estate and insurance branch offices, and other business types," said Stephen Nye, general manager of Equifax National Decision Systems. "We are also setting up distributor programs for the ON-CD line to allow value-added resellers access to an easy-to-use, reliable and well-packaged data source."

ON-CD data can be licensed for one or more states or for the entire United States. The products are available from the company and from many of its Market Partners distributors and resellers. More information is available from Equifax National Decision Systems, 5375 Mira Sorrento Place, Ste. 400, San Diego, Calif. 92121; telephone 800/866-6510. Internet homepage: http//www.ends.com.
